SAVE THE MARSH

Sawyer Marshes are east of Sawyer Street Between Somerset and Schooner Road in South Portland.  The marshes are part of the Trout Brook Watershed, a watershed that cover approximately 1,700 acres in South Portland and Cape Elizabeth.  Trout Brook is one of 5 watersheds in South Portland and the only one that is still "Alive."  Trout Brook is extremely fragile and on the verge of collapsing due to increased development pressures.  A new single family home could be that breaking point.

The South Portland Land Trust and the Meeting House Hill Association have partnered in an effort to protect this valuable resource. Through hard work and perseverance with the help of many the marsh is now protected.
